Property description

PRICE REDUCED

Beautiful renovated old stone house in center of Vela Luka on Korcula.

An old stone arch meets the one who enters through the front door. Thick stone walls that provide coolness in the summer, and which are heated towards the autumn and then provide heat.

The house is actually two houses linked by an arch, an outdoor terrace and a tiled roof. In the larger of the two houses is a studio apartment on the ground floor. There the kitchen was removed, but left was a small sink and a refrigerator.

There is, of course, a bathroom and a larger bedroom.

On the upper floor of the same building is the kitchen, two bedrooms and another bathroom. The attic is empty, unfurnished and airy.

The smaller of the two interconnected houses has a room being used mainly as a storage. Above it is a big living room.

Between the two houses is the terrace with a tiled roof over it as protection from the sun. Place to hang out at all hours of the day.

A steep staircase leads up to a roof terrace, which lies in the sun all day. Perfect for lazy afternoons with a beer or a glass of wine while someone else grills.

With two houses that were put together once a long time ago, with several rooms and nooks on different levels, there is always time for company, and time for your own time, in a small fishing community where it is still as it once was in that corner of the Mediterranean called the Adriatic Sea.

More about Korcula

The Island of Korcula is nearly 30 miles long and 5 miles wide at the widest. It is the most Southern of the large islands and the closest to Dubrovnik. There are ferry services from Dubrovnik to the main town, also called Korcula, and Split has ferries to Vela Luka and Korcula town. There are other ferries from the main land to the island in the tourist season. Korcula town, the home town of Marco Polo, whatever the Italians are saying, is a major tourist destination in its own right.

Like Dubrovnik, it is an old fortified town and very little has changed to the streets and houses for 500 years. Away from Korcula town are many fabulous fishing villages around the coast.

For people searching for a cottage on Croatia's coast or Dalmatian coast property this has become a happy hunting ground. Real estate on Korcula island is always popular as it is many people's favourite island destination. It is the closest to Dubrovnik, is the most populated island, and has the most transport links to the mainland. We feel that Korcula property will always be a good investment for these reasons.
