Home Old stone houses for sale on Hvar (SOLD) Hvar, old stone house for sale, 220.000 €

Property description

We are pleased to offer this superbly restored old stone cottage in the centre of the village.

It is in walking distance of the old harbour and the vibrant area around, with most of the shops and restaurants.

The property for sale is an excellent excellent example of how to make the best use of space, because what appeared to be a small cottage is now a luxurious 3 bedroom house, with a courtyard featuring an outdoor BBQ grill and enough space for sun loungers and a table for 6 people.

The house has an entrance through the courtyard which is surrounded by a high stone wall partly hidden by a variety of Mediterranean vegetation.

The ground floor has a living room, kitchen and dining room, connected through vaulted doorways and ceilings to a bathroom and a small summer kitchen and table for 6 in outer space.

Access to the upstairs is through the closed courtyard where there is a staircase to the upper floor with three bedrooms and a large bathroom.

The house is stylish with great character. It is ready to rent or live.

Properties like this are rarely on the market, so an early viewing is recommended.

More about Hvar

Hvar Island is 2 hours by ferry from Split, and the main town on the island is also called Hvar, so be aware so you do not to become confused! It is considered the most exclusive of the Dalmatian islands for various reasons. It is noted as having the most sunshine hours of any place in the area and the main town of Hvar was once an important naval port for the Venetians. As such, it has disproportionately grand public buildings and squares giving the town a distinctly affluent feel.

The public ferry to Hvar island stops at Stari Grad, a bus ride of 20 minutes from Hvar so it is quite common to find a majority of visitors to the town have come by yacht. It is a popular destination for Croatia's rich and famous visitors.

Other than the main town Hvar island has a thriving agriculture and tourist industry.

The Hvar real estate business is always busy and there is a premium for commercial properties in Hvar town as it does become extremely busy in high Summer. Away from the main towns Hvar island property is more modestly priced. We feel confident that Hvar town property and more isolated and secluded property on Hvar will hold its value well due to international make up of its visitors.
