Split-Dalmatian county finally got its new zoning plan that is the foundation for some serious investments, especially in the tourism sector.
This strategic document predicts that the basis of county's development will be tourism and renewable sources of energy. There are more than a hundred tourist zones in this plan, many of which were planned before, but never came to fruition. Beside that, 27 wind and 37 solar power plants are in the plan, plus he treconstruction of the biggest Dalmatian hydro-power facility, Peruca near Sinj. Also, a few natural gas facilities will be built in the near future.
What is interesting for Split area are hydroplane ports in Hvar, Vis, Split and Divulje near Split Airport. If plans become reality, it will be even possible to go by cablecar from Makarska to Biokovo, and to travel by plane to the future airport near Sestanovac.
Significant fish-farming zones are predicted around Marina, Hvar, Brac and Makarska, plus few freshwater fish farms in inland Dalmatia.
Now the County "just" needs to find some credible investors.
