Dalmacija News has reported that the first hydroplanes between Split, Hvar, Vis and Divulje might begin flying as soon as next spring. After Split-Dalmatian county finally voted its new zoning plan with hydroplane ports included on these locations, European Coastal Airlines announced regular lines in Central Dalmatia for 2014. The first step will be new web site ECA announced on the company's Facebook page, with special prices for local people, as an introduction to new transportation concept in this tourist region.
At the same time, it seems there won't be flights to and from Dubrovnik, despite ECA's wishes. In spite of support of local authorities, and plans for flights from Dubrovnik to Korcula, Hvar, Lastovo and Split, it was impossible to find a solution how to place a pontoon in Dubrovnik's Gruz port.
