Solta ist eine kleinere Insel, unmittelbar vor der Stadt Split. Der Kontrast zwischen der Hauptstadt Dalmatiens und der Ruhe dieser Perle der Adria ist unglaublich. Obwohl die Insel nur 12 x 5 Meilen misst, ist die Küste der Insel bestückt mit kleinen Fischerhäfen, um die zahlreiche versteckte Buchten liegen mit schönen Stränden. Solta ist gut mit Split dank regelmäßigen Fährenlinien verbunden über den Inselhafen Rogac. Auf der Insel kann man den gut organisierten öffentlichen Busverkehr nutzen.
